Give a Day to Copeland: Himalayan balsam pull

15th June 2018

Himalayan balsam is an invasive non-native plant that takes over large areas of our river banks, and then puts the bank at risk of erosion when it dies back in the winter. We will be pulling this plant up by the River Irt on Friday 15th June as part of the Give a Day to Copeland campaign. We’ll be meeting in the morning and early afternoon at Gosforth village car park and then driving to the site for a couple of hours work with biscuits and chat. We need to have an idea of how many people are turning up, so please get in contact to find out exact times and further details rebecca@westcumbriariverstrust.org 017687 75429
