Meeting on the second Thursday of the month, the Cocker Catchment Volunteer Group helps with practical conservation tasks ranging from tree and hedge planting to invasive species management.
Himalayan Balsam is an invasive, non-native plant that prevents native species from growing, chokes our waterways, and causes riverbank erosion. We’ll be pulling it up – no experience is necessary and we’ll show you what to do. Feel free to join us for just a few hours.
Please bring waterproofs, wellies, clothing suitable for the weather, lunch, drinks, and gloves if you have them. Long trousers and sleeves are preferable.
Tools will be provided.
Limited parking is available but there are no facilities on site.
