Meeting on the third Wednesday of the month, the Glenderamackin Volunteer Group helps with practical conservation tasks ranging from tree and hedge planting to invasive species management.
Tasks will include straightening windblown stakes, replacing tubes and clearing competitive grass.
Please bring waterproofs, sturdy footwear, lunch, drinks, and gloves if you have them. Tools will be provided.
On-road parking is available and there are toilets on site. No previous experience is required.
You’ll need to be confident walking on uneven terrain as the site is a distance from the road and some of the work will be on uneven ground and slopes.
Numbers are limited so booking is essential. Contact Sarah on sarahclarke@westcumbriariverstrust.org or 07943 497672 to book or for any questions.
The Restoring the Derwent project is funded by the Green Recovery Challenge Fund, which is funded by Defra and being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
