January Babbling About Rivers

8th January 2019

The ‘Babbling About Rivers’ series will start with a talk from Ian Winfield, who returns following his fascinating talk last year. This year, he’ll be talking about the iconic Arctic charr: while his work has focused on Windermere, the information presented will also be relevant to our geographical area. The talk will include a showing of the 11-minute-long film ‘Brass, Three Down’ on the Arctic charr fishery of Windermere and its environment by Henry Iddon and Richard Berry.

7pm, Tuesday 8th January at The Hub, 2 Market Street, Cockermouth - ‘The cultural importance and international recognition of the Arctic charr Salvelinus alpinus populations of Windermere, UK’
