We are delighted to have partnered up with Susan Cammish, the Workington Nature Partnership Officer for Siddick Ponds in Workington.
The ponds are beautiful and offer great biodiversity as well as an oasis of solace in an otherwise industrial spot but are desperately in need of volunteer support. They are seriously affected by Himalayan balsam, an invasive non-native plant that is threatening to outcompete and overwhelm the native plants that grow there so successfully. Susan has therefore organised the following event:
Wednesday 17th July 13-15.30
Meet at the visitor’s hub/bird hide by the Iggesund visitor’s car park. It’s a wonderful place, don’t miss out on this opportunity to contribute to its continued success.
