Terms and conditions for our events

Welcome to West Cumbria Rivers Trust (WCRT) events. By attending any WCRT event, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully before participating.

1. Participation and Safety at events

  • Participation in WCRT events can involve an element of risk, including the risk of injury.

  • You agree to take responsibility for your own actions and those under your care, and to follow all instructions and guidance given by WCRT staff and/or external people leading events.

  • All events are led by trained WCRT staff and/or trained external people and have been risk-assessed. Risk assessments are available to view on request.

  • For bookable events, participants will be asked to provide relevant health and medical information and emergency contact details to help staff manage safety. By booking, you agree to share this information and to follow all safety advice during the activity.

  • WCRT holds public liability insurance.

2. Photography and media

  • Photos may be taken during events for WCRT use in communications and publicity.

  • If you do not consent to photos being taken, please inform WCRT staff on the day.

  • For children, a separate signed photo consent form is required.

3. Data Protection / GDPR

  • WCRT processes personal data in line with the WCRT Privacy Policy.

  • For events booked through Eventbrite, please also see Eventbrite's GDPR statement.

  • Any personal data collected is used solely to manage your participation and will not be shared outside WCRT and event partners unless legally required.

4. Booking and attendance

  • For bookable events, attendance is only confirmed once a booking is completed. By booking, you confirm that you have read and agree to all of the Event Terms & Conditions listed on this page and agree to follow all safety guidance.

  • For non-bookable events, attendance implies acceptance of these terms and compliance with safety instructions.

  • If you have specific access needs, please contact us to check on event suitability.

5. Children and vulnerable participants

  • Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times unless otherwise stated.

  • In certain cases, a separate consent form is required for children to take part.
