When: Tue 10 June, 1pm-3pm
Where: Walkmill Community Woodland (meet at Walkmill Woods car park - w3w///crunched.sports.commuting )
What: As part of "the Big Green week" we will be hosting a 2 hour Bioblitz at Walkmill Community Woodlands. Ready to root around in the undergrowth, chase butterflies (figuratively), and call out “what’s that?” more than once? Then this is your kind of event.
Join us for a playful but purposeful sprint through Walkmill, where we’ll try to record as many species as we can before time runs out. Plants, bugs, birds, fungi — if it lives here, we want to log it.
You don’t need to know your sedges from your saplings — an expert will be on hand to help ID and record your finds. All you need is curiosity, comfy shoes, and a keen eye.
It’s a bit of a challenge, a bit of a treasure hunt, and a brilliant way to connect with nature.
Who: Suitable for all abilities
Notes: Please ensure you wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather and for an outdoor setting. Sturdy footwear is advised. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Thanks to our funders: National Lottery Heritage Fund, Sellafield Ltd SiX - Social Multiplied Impact Programme and supported by The Environment Agency.
