A previous West Cumbria Rivers Project involving bank stabilisation and deciduous floodplain woodland planting was under threat from grazing stock encroaching from up-stream. The opportunity was taken to tighten the line wires on the existing fence, rail out the stock from the neighbouring land and secure two trees to provide large wooded debris to improve the habitat for the indigenous fish. The location for securing the trees was agreed with Keswick Anglers prior to being secured with stainless steel wire to the living stump.
